Sustainability has long been a core value at Hotel Oberwirt. For us, it’s not just a buzzword but a commitment to our actions. We aim to contribute to the protection of our environment and the preservation of our beautiful nature.
We actively work to protect the environment and ensure that the beauty of South Tyrol is preserved for future generations. Here are some of the measures we take to contribute to environmental protection:
REGIONAL PRODUCTS
We source much of our food locally and collaborate with regional producers. This helps avoid unnecessary transport and CO2 emissions. Our delicious apples come from our own farm.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TRANSPORT
Every guest receives a free MeranCard, which allows unlimited use of all public transport in South Tyrol. We also offer our guests e-bikes to explore the surroundings. Moving around while protecting the environment - this is sustainability.
PRESERVING THE SOUTH TYROLEAN LIVING SPACE
We have always been committed to maintaining and enhancing our home. We maintain long-term partnerships with our employees, support the local community, engage in social projects, and give young people an insight into the hospitality industry.
OWN ENERGY
For years, we’ve been heating the Oberwirt with our own wood chip heating system. With our solar panels, we generate green electricity. We also minimize our energy consumption by switching to LED lighting.
MARLING MOUNTAIN WATER
Water is a vital resource. We offer fresh Marling mountain water in our restaurant and in your room. It’s emission-free because we don’t need trucks to transport it.
LOCAL WOOD
All our guest rooms are furnished with locally sourced wood. When carrying out renovations, we prioritize working with South Tyrolean companies, reducing environmental impact by keeping travel distances short.
With small gestures like using towels responsibly, our guests can also actively contribute to environmental protection and reduce the hotel's ecological footprint.
Hotel Oberwirt in Marling, along with other sustainable hotels in South Tyrol, demonstrates how sustainability, environmental protection, and well-being can go hand in hand.
