The Good is So Close, as just a walk from our Romantik Hotel Oberwirt, you'll find the second-largest city in South Tyrol – the spa town of Meran. In the 19th century, Meran was dubbed a "climatic winter resort" due to its mild and beneficial climate. The town gained even more fame when Empress "Sissi" discovered the spa town for herself. As a result, the sleepy little town soon transformed into an upscale resort, known for its lush parks and magnificent gardens.
Back in the present, Meran is far from dormant. The historic streets are infused with fresh energy, so alongside the venerable buildings, you'll find trendy shops for shopping or leisure.
In addition to sightseeing and cultural enjoyment, the small streets of downtown Meran also invite you to relax and enjoy a leisurely stroll. Our recommendations for you:

The characteristic arcades of Meran, dating back to the 13th century, are not only beautiful to look at but also a true hidden gem for shopping enthusiasts. In the shops beneath the arches, you'll find everything your heart desires – from delicacies to fashion.
